A great "Thank You" goes out to all those who volunteered to represent Our Lady of Sorrows - St. Anthony as greeters, ushers, child care providers, media sales table staff, and traffic/parking attendants. The first four positions are now staffed, but we do still need traffic/parking attendants, so additional volunteers for that area would be most welcome. Are you, or is someone you love, awaiting surgery of a serious nature? Elderly and notably weakened, even if not seriously ill? A child who is sick? Our parish invites all those Catholics who may be ill to this sacred encounter, that they might know that Christ, who often visited and healed the sick, loves them in their illness. Please join us on Saturday, May 7, at our parish's annual May Crowning. Following the 11:00 AM Mass, at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, we will process to the Shrine of Our Blessed Mother in front of our school. All First Communicants are invited to participate, in their First Communion attire. Please let your teacher know if you plan to join us. We look forward to seeing all First Communicants, their families, and all parishioners.

Our Lady of Sorrows School is seeking smiling faces to act as Substitute Teachers. If you enjoy working with children in grades K through 8, we would love to meet you. Please contact the school at 587-4140. Most teachers let us know well before the date needed, so we don't usually do "early morning calls." Please join us for a special liturgy for the blessing of Easter foods. This traditional custom will take place on Saturday, April 15, at Our Lady of Sorrows immediately after Morning Prayer, which begins at 10:00 AM.

Join your fellow parishioners after Stations of the Cross on Good Friday to help decorate Our Lady of Sorrows Church to celebrate the resurrection of the Lord. Many hands will make light work, so bring your family and friends!

Pope Francis has asked our parish to support the Pontifical Good Friday Collection, which helps Christians in the Holy Land. In these times of crisis, the wars, unrest, and instability have been especially hard on Christians. The Pontifical Good Friday Collection provides humanitarian aid to refugees, among other things (see the full article). Please be generous!
