Catholic Charities’ annual Gala 50/50 raffle tickets will be available for purchase after all masses this weekend. The Gala and drawing take place in September.

Our families again have the option of attending an intensive program during the summer or the Regular Sunday or Wednesday weekly program September through May. The Summer Program will be Virtual and held Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to noon from July 5 through July 18.

Our school will close for its summer recess this Thursday, June 15! We wish our students, teachers, and staff a safe and enjoyable summer vacation, and we thank our principal, faculty, and staff for all they did to make this year a success! We also thank the PTA for their support!

We are pleased to announce that our diocese will be participating in a three-year-long Eucharistic Revival sponsored by the Bishops of the United States. The launch date will be Sunday, June 19, the Solemnity of Corpus Christi, and our parish will be holding a Solemn Eucharistic Procession at the 9:30 Mass at St. Anthony Church.

The Respect Life Group of Our Lady of Sorrows - St. Anthony is looking for people who want to join us in activities that promote life. A majority of Americans want to limit abortions, but our legislators keep ignoring us. We need your help to get through to them that they are out of step with their constituents. The Annual Catholic Appeal supports various diocesan programs and ministries: Reaching our goal of $100,000 would bring our parish a “rebate” of $15,000. Please make donation checks for the Annual Catholic Appeal payable to Annual Catholic Appeal, not to Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony or OLS-SA.

Our Lord appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, asking her to promote the practice of frequent Holy Communion, especially on the First Friday of every month, and to establish a feast day on the Friday following the Solemnity of Corpus Christi. In these apparitions, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque was given to know the need for reparation for sin, and to respond to Christ's love. The month of June is dedicated to honoring the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This Friday, June 10, as we celebrate the Solemnity of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, our eighth grade will hold graduation ceremonies at a Mass to be celebrated at 4:00 pm. May the Lord of love be ever at the side of our graduates as they begin the adventure and challenge of high school.

On May 14, the Catholic Bishops of New Jersey expressed their sadness and outrage to the Governor’s announcement to support a proposal to radically expanded access of abortion. The bishops reaffirmed the Church’s commitment to serve and stand by all mothers facing a hardship or unplanned pregnancy.
