This Friday, October 19, the Mount Carmel Guild will hold its annual gala and our own Deacon Jeff has been singled out for special honors. The Guild has chosen well—Deacon Jeff, in addition to his parish ministry, has long served as chaplain at Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Hamilton, and currently volunteers at St. Francis Medical Center, Trenton. We take this opportunity to congratulate Deacon Kevin O’Boyle on the 15th Anniversary of his ordination to the Permanent Diaconate, and to thank him for the many ways in which he has served the Lord, the Church, and the people of Our Lady of Sorrows-St Anthony. That's what Emily Jaruszewski is doing...she graduated from Mercer County Technical School's Health Science Academy in June, but since she also earned an Associate's Degree from MCCC a month earlier, she's entering college as a Junior! Click for more information.

Dear OLS-SA Clergy, Deacons, and Parishioners, Our heartfelt thanks for remembering us in so many ways. We deeply appreciate your prayers, thoughtfulness, and outpouring of love in the loss of our beloved daughter, Christine Wetterling. Love, Deacon Jim and Nancy Challender

Our family is humbled by, and grateful for, the outpouring of love and compassion we received upon the death of our beloved Deacon Tim. He loved his fellow parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows - St. Anthony and enjoyed so much working with the altar servers and everyone else with whom he came in contact.

We express our gratitude to all those who helped to prepare and carry out the beautiful funeral rites for our dear Deacon, Tim Moore. Thanks, too, to Ruth Woodcock, her many helpers, and the ladies of our Rosary Altar Society for setting up and serving the luncheon that followed the Mass in our school cafeteria. We are beholden to our school community for accommodating Deacon Tim's family and friends during the school day.

Deacons in our diocese will now have the option to wear a grey clerical shirt and deacon emblem/pin when they are carrying out their ministry. For more information, click the article title.
