The Legion of Mary is sponsoring a public rosary to be prayed on Saturday, October 7th, at 12 noon at Veteran's Park North Side (across from Steinert High School. Please join us to pray for our country!

Our first meeting of the year will be held on the 2nd Monday of the month (September 11) due to Labor Day. The evening will begin with a prayer service starting at 7 pm in Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

The Rosary Altar will hold their Corporate Sunday on December 4 at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, and their monthly meeting for December on Monday, December 5.

This feast is celebrated on September 8. This is a feast of great joy because Mary’s arrival is a sign that the Redemption is drawing near. St. Peter Damien commenting on this feast writes: “Today is the day in which God begins to carry out his divine plan, since it was necessary to construct a house before the King would come to dwell within it.”

I regret to report that the "little grotto" of the Blessed Virgin to the left of St. Anthony Church was totally demolished due to a motor vehicle accident in the early hours of Friday, August 12.

Monday, August 15 is the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary into Heaven. As this Solemnity of Our Lady falls on a Monday this year, the obligation to attend Mass is abrogated, i.e., there is no obligation to assist at Mass. Everyone is, however, encouraged to join us in celebrating this ancient feast at our usual 7 and 9 AM Masses.
