The Holy Name Society will meet this coming Friday, December 15, at 1:00 PM in the Church Library at Our Lady of Sorrows.

Our parish will celebrate a new tradition following the "Bambinelli Sunday" tradition begun at the Vatican. All are invited to bring the Christ-child figure from their home creche to Mass on the third Sunday of Advent (December 17) to be blessed. Click here for more information.

Everyone—especially those who are not afraid of climbing ladders—is invited to help decorate Our Lady of Sorrows Church at 7:00 pm on Friday, December 22, for His arrival. Many hands will make light work, so bring your family and friends. This is a great opportunity for Confirmation candidates and high school students to earn service hours, too!

Thursdays are Days of Eucharistic Adoration at Our Lady of Sorrows, following the 9:00 am Mass until 6:00 pm. Visits can be made to the Blessed Sacrament at any time during office hours.

Our Lady of Sorrows School is offering more than 725 retail store and restaurant gift cards for sale through the Great Lakes Scrip Company to the parishioners of Our Lady of Sorrows-St. Anthony.

Beginning on the weekend of December 2-3, the Church will be celebrating the season of Advent, a time to anticipate the birth of Christ, the Light of the World. Families are invited to carry the lighted Advent candle in the procession at the beginning of each weekend Mass. We are delighted to announce that our school received a most generous donation in the amount of $10,000 from a parishioner who wishes to remain anonymous. We are most grateful for this extraordinary gift that will go a long way in supporting the mission of our school. Please offer a prayer for this generous donor and for all the benefactors of our parish and school.

Today our parish celebrates the Church’s “Rite of Welcome” for those who are preparing to receive the Sacraments of the Eucharist and/or Confirmation.

During November, 185 hours of service were provided by 33 volunteers to 30 persons, and also delivered Thanksgiving bags to a number of people.
