Close of the Christmas Season

Monday’s feast of the Lord’s Baptism brings to a close our celebration of the Christmas Season. It is also an epiphany—a manifestation—of Christ’s divinity because of the direct intervention of heaven. At the River Jordan, the Holy Spirit appears in the form of the dove and the Eternal Father’s voice is heard: “This is my Beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”
