Please review carefully, as a number of services usually held at Our Lady of Sorrows have been moved to St. Anthony Church, since it has been designated by the Bishop as a Holy Year Pilgrimage site for Mercer County.

Masses and Services

Ash Wednesday, March 5

Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are days of fast and abstinence. Fridays in Lent are days of abstinence from meat for all Catholics 14 years of age and older.

Honoring St. Joseph,  Wednesday, March 19, 7:00 PM

Join us for Mass on Wednesday, March 19 for a Solemn Mass, at 7:00 AM to honor St. Joseph. The traditional blessing of the Table of St. Joseph will follow in the Church Hall.

Thursday Services
March 13 through April 10

At Our Lady of Sorrows Church:

Eucharistic Adoration: Exposition follows the 9:00 Mass and continues until 6:45 PM concluding with Evening Prayer and Reposition.
(NB: Funerals may interrupt Adoration Time.)

At St. Anthony Church:

Confessions: 6:30 - 7:00 PM

Holy Mass: 7:00 PM. Guest celebrants will be:

Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession)

Eucharistic Adoration

Every Thursday is a day of Eucharistic Adoration at Our Lady of Sorrows Church. During Lent, the Blessed Sacrament is exposed following the 9:00 AM Mass, until Evening Prayer and Reposition at 1:30 PM.

Morning funerals may interrupt adoration time. Call the Parish Office (587-4372) to verify.

Mass with Anointing of the Sick

Will be held on Thursday, April 10, at 7:00 PM at St. Anthony Church,
the Very Rev. Oscar Sumanga, Celebrant.

Stations of the Cross (The Via Crucis)

Stations of the Cross are held in both churches at 7:00 PM during Lent. At Our Lady of Sorrows, Stations are in English, and at St. Anthony, Stations are in Creole. On Good Friday, Stations of the Cross are replaced with The Seven Last Words at Our Lady of Sorrows.

On Good Friday, the Seven Last Words will be presented at OLS instead of the Stations of the Cross.

The Seven Last Words

On the evening of Good Friday, we shall hold a service on the "Seven Last Words" Jesus uttered as He hung upon the Cross. It is a tradition that dates back to the 17th century, and includes hymns, prayers, and brief reflections on each of the "seven words." Join us for this moving evening of prayer and reflection.

Lent is a time for almsgiving. In this Lenten season, we ask your help for the following Pro-Life Women's Centers—Pro-Life IS Pro-Women.

Good Counsel Home, Moorestown

Has helped women and children move from a crisis situation to a brighter future by providing: maternity care, infant daycare, parenting and nutrition classes, spiritual support, health education, and post-abortion healing.

Options for Her, Trenton

Provides pregnancy testing, ultrasounds, and other services to compassionately accompany a woman through an unplanned pregnancy.
