The Social Justice / Social Concerns Committee is focused on putting our faith into action. We sponsor many events that extend God's loving hand through us, His Mystical Body, to people outside the parish borders, including the annual Lenten alsmgiving campaign, which has helped the Bishop Asili clinic in Uganda and Fr. Gene's parish in India; Soup Kitchen volunteer events; and more.
We are always grateful for new volunteers to help in these activities! Come out and join us—you may be surprised at how much fun you can have doing good deeds!
From emergency shelter to transitional and permanent housing, Anchor House works to
ensure our young people have a safe home as well as supportive and educational services for a better future. Click here for the link to support this year's 500 mile cycling fundraiser which will take place July 11-18.
Our parish will be hosting the Loaves and Fishes meal at St. Mary's Cathedral in Trenton on June 27, and we need volunteers! We also need volunteers on Friday, June 26, to prepare boxed lunches for distribution on Saturday. Click here for a link to more information.
Feeding the hungry never ceases to be important. Food pantries always need staples such as peanut butter, jelly, cereal, soup, pasta, pasta sauce, and canned vegetables, but any non-perishables you can donate to Mt Carmel Guild or St Raphael’s Food Pantry are greatly appreciated. Just place them in the receptacles at the doors of our churches.
