Myth	Fact
Women only get late-term abortions when they're necessary to save the mother's life.	The most recent studies show most late term abortions are for elective reasons. In states that provide data, less than 1% of these abortions were performed for tragic cases (life-threatening health issue, rape, incest).
There is no reason to think of a fetus as a person with rights.	Modern technology allows us to observe more about life in the womb than ever before. We know that by 15 weeks unborn babies have fully formed noses and lips, eyelids and eyebrows. They can suck their thumbs. They can respond to their mother's voice.
Our abortion laws are already too strict when compared with the rest of the world.	The United States is one of just a handful of countries (including China and North Korea) allowing late term abortion on demand. In Europe , 47 out of 50 countries limit abortion prior to 15 weeks.
