Pope St. John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis have all called upon us to care for “our common home” by safeguarding the plants and animals of our ecosystems. Planting a pollinator garden is a great way to answer that call, so we will be starting a garden of native plants in front of our school that will beautify the entrance to the school, attract native pollinators (including monarch butterflies), and offer educational opportunities to our young people.
We’ll be offering many ways to get involved, but for now we’re asking for help to get some plants. You can donate to sponsor a particular type of plant, or just make a general donation to contribute to the initial costs of the garden.
Please fill out the form in the bulletin of September 18 (so we can thank you!) and put it in an envelope marked “garden” in the collection with your donation or send to the parish office. Don’t want to fill out the form? Just send/drop off your garden gift clearly marked “garden.” Make out checks to the parish.
