Church Courtesies

In our effort to cultivate a climate conducive to reverent and active participation at Mass we ask everyone to be attentive to the following:
 

• Arrival / Dismissal
  A late arrival can be distracting once Mass begins. Arriving early affords us time to recollect our thoughts before Mass. We should not leave Mass before it ends.   Bolting for the door just after receiving the Eucharist is a bad witness.  
   
• Handicap parking spaces 
  Handicap parking spaces are reserved for those who really need them. Do not park in these reserved spaces unless you have a special plate or sign.
   
• Welcome Visitors 
  A great parish is a welcoming parish. Our smile and helping hand to visitors can go a long way.
   
• Silence your Cellphones
  Cell phones are a blessing but can also be a distraction. Their use at Mass  for calls or texting is disrespectful.
   
• Reverential Quiet
  Loud talking before and after Mass is most often a distraction. Let’s be respectful to those who wish to pray before and after Mass.
   
• Parents with Infants
  It is always a joy to have infants and young children at Mass. Welcome and encourage their parents. For their part, parents should take care that if their child cries loudly or becomes unruly, they should feel free to walk with them in the side aisle or take them to the vestibule. This will allow the assembly to worship without much distraction.  
   
•  Hymnal Holders Do not use the hymnal holders for anything other than the books. This keeps our church neat and clean.
