An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion (EMHC) is a Catholic adult lay person who assists the priests and deacons in the distribution of the Blessed Sacrament at Mass or in visits to the sick or housebound when an adequate number of ordained ministers are not available. In our parish, EMHCs routinely assist at Mass on Sundays, Holy Days of Obligation, and weekdays.
We are in need of new volunteers for this ministry at both our churches. This ministry is so important that those who exercise it should
have a firm faith in the Christ’s Real Presence in the Eucharist, and a desire to share that faith and Christ’s love with others;
be registered and supportive members of our parish;
have received Baptism, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation;
attend Mass every Sunday and on Holy Day of Obligation;
if married, the marriage should be valid, in accord with Church law;
Not by their lifestyle or other means publicly profess a position contrary to the teaching of the Catholic Church.
If you feel called to this very special ministry please call the parish office 609-587-4372.
