Saturday, August 15:
The Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

In accord with recent liturgical norms issued by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, we wish to advise that the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, falling this year on a Saturday, the holy day DOES NOT carry with it the obligation of assisting at Mass. Nevertheless, we do encourage everyone to honor Our Lady, Patroness of our Diocese. The liturgy of the Assumption will be celebrated at our 9:00 am Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows.
