The Holy Eucharist is the bread for our earthly pilgrimage symbolized by the forty years spent by the chosen people in the desert. When people prepare themselves well and receive Jesus in Holy Communion, he produces in them wonderful fruits. Holy Communion separates us from sin, cleanses us from sin, and preserves us from future sins by strengthening us against temptation and increasing our taste for the things of God. As bodily nourishment restores lost strength, so the Holy Eucharist strengthens our charity. The Holy Eucharist prepares us for entry into eternal glory.
