This holy food is indispensable for our spiritual life…Communion is the Sacrum Convivium, the wonderful banquet at which Christ gives himself to us, and gives himself up for us…Jesus clearly states that his Body and Blood are food for the soul, the pledge of eternal life, the guarantee of the resurrection of the body.
