Msgr. Gervasio organized a parish pilgrimage to Emmitsburg, MD, where St. Elizabeth Ann Seton created the first Catholic school for girls in America. When we arrived at Mt. St. Mary's University (where Msgr. studied Theology), we had lunch with the students and visited the chapel.
We then took the bus to the Shrine of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton where we attended Mass at the Basilica, and toured the homes where Mother Seton and her sisters (and daughters) lived and taught school. We got back on the bus to get to the National Shrine of the Grotto of Lourdes, where we said the Rosary and wandered around the grounds.
After seeing the grotto, we went into Emmitsburg, to The Carriage House restaurant, where we had dinner (no photos of that, sorry). We then got back onto the bus for the long ride home.
