Dear Parishioners,
Summer is flying by and this week we look to the opening of a new school year on Tuesday, September 1. Mrs. Tuohy, faculty, and staff have been working diligently to prepare all that is necessary to welcome our returning and new students. We are grateful for their labors.
 
I am also grateful to you for your generosity that allows us to support the mission begun decades ago to maintain a parish elementary school. May we never forget that in addition to the fine academic instruction provided, our school, like every Catholic school is founded to provide spiritual and religious formation—to be a school of discipleship.  
 
St. Henry Cardinal Newman said: “We want a laity…who know their religion, who enter into it, who know just where they stand, who know what they hold and what they do not, who know their creed so well that they can give an account of it, who know so much history that they can defend it.” That’s a tall order!  I should like to think that our parish school is instrumental in laying the foundation for this to happen.
 
May the Holy Spirit illumine the path of this new scholastic year. May Our Lady with St. Carlo Acutis ever watch over “their” students and teachers at every turn!With affection,

Sen Henry Kadinal Newman te di: “Nou vle yon layika…ki konnen relijyon yo, ki antre ladan l, ki konnen egzakteman ki kote yo kanpe, ki konnen sa yo kenbe ak sa yo pa kenbe, ki konnen kwayans yo tèlman byen konsa yo bay yon esplikasyon sou li, ki tèlman konnen istwa pou yo ka defann li.” Sa a se yon gwo defi.
