We collected over 100 items for babies during our Baby Blanket Drive in October, thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, who used their time and talent to create lovely items that will show our care for the babies whose mothers have chosen life! If you have made a baby blanket during Respect Life Month (October), please bring it to the church this weekend (Nov. 1-2). We will be in the Church Hall at St. Anthony Church and in Holy Family Hall at Our Lady of Sorrows Church after all Masses. We can't wait to see what you've made!

The OLS-SA Holy Name Society is for the men of our parish and we would appreciate your support. The purpose of the Holy Name Society is to give honor and glory to the sacred name of Jesus Christ which is needed more than ever today.

Our parish takes great pride in the recognition being accorded this Saturday, October 24 to Mrs. Mariyam Francis, our Director of Religious Education. Mrs. Francis will receive the Mt. Carmel Guild’s “Guild Neighbor Award” for her work to support its annual Thanksgiving Drive. We are proud of you, Mariyam!

The parish Respect Life team invites you to join us in prayer for life, every Thursday in October, at noon, in front of the Blessed Sacrament. Each week we will pray a different set of prayers, for life and for healing. Click here for more information.

Let us keep our Deacons in prayer as they attend their annual convocation this weekend (October 17-19) in Princeton. May it be a time of fraternity, prayer, and continuing formation. Let us also thank Deacons Kevin, Salvatore, Joseph, and Nelson for their ministry which they carry out so well. We thank too, their good wives who are such a great support in their work.

The Lumen Christi Cohort invites all current and retired persons who work or worked in the healthcare professions--physicians, nurses, technicians, chaplains, etc.--to participate in a special White Mass celebration on October 19, at 11:30 AM at St. Raphael's church in Hamilton. Friends and supporters are also welcome!

The Rosary Altar Society invites you to a morning of recollection, on Saturday October 18. The day begins with "Fr. Stas" (Fr. Stanley Lukaszewski) celebrating our 9:00 AM Mass. The ladies will then proceed to Holy Family Hall for the remainder of the program. Click here for more information.

All men are invited to an empowering Evening of Reflection on Wednesday, October 16 at 6:00 PM at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

The blessing of pets will take place on the feast of St. Francis of Assisi @10 AM on Saturday, Oct. 4 (rain date/time: 3 PM. on Sunday, Oct. 5), at the Peace Garden at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.

The Cohort Mission team is asking for volunteers during the mission (held on October 6 -8) to greet and usher people, to direct parking, and to make sure any debris left in the church is picked up. We need your names by September 22 to print name tags! Click here for details.

October is Respect Life Month, and we are asking all parishioners who know how to crochet, knit, quilt, etc. to make a baby blanket during October for the local crisis pregnancy center. Give these mothers the gift of knowing someone cares enough to create a soft, bright, welcoming blanket for their baby. Click here for more information.

Monday night Bible study resumes on September 15, at 7:00 PM, meeting in the Parish Library at Our Lady of Sorrows. Click here for contact information if you want to attend from home.

On September 17 & 18, the priests of our diocese will gather for their annual convocation. Please pray for them during these special days. Since our priests will be away, our Mass schedule on these two days only will be adjusted: at 7:00 AM we will have a Communion Service celebrated by one of our deacons; at 9:00 AM a guest priest will celebrate Mass.

The Prayer Shawl group will meet this month on September 15, at 1:00 PM, in the Church Meeting Room at Our Lady of Sorrows. Our Mission is to create prayer shawls, lap robes, and dialysis blankets for those under treatment, and for those in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. We also create baby blankets for distribution at local Pro-Life pregnancy centers. We are always delighted to welcome new members, even if you don't yet know how to crochet.
