On this 250th anniversary of the founding of our country, our Bishop David O'Connell, in union with all of the bishops of the United States of America, has requested that all Catholics consecrate the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Click here for the prayer of consecration.

Thanks to those who helped organize our recent Ministry Fair, and to those who attended it! We hope those who visited came to appreciate the various organizations and ministries that keep our parish life vibrant. And we hope that some who came may have indicated their willingness to serve!

The Respect Life Ministry of OLS-SA is hosting a group rosary at an online Zoom conference every Wednesday evening at 6:45 PM. This Thursday (January 21) marks the anniversary of the Supreme Court decision that legalized abortion. While the ruling has been overturned, the Court turned the issue over to the States. Thus, the battle to defend human life remains. Click here to find a way that you can help in prayer.

The Respect Life Group would like to thank you for your generous support of the recent Right to Life Raffle OLS-SA parishioners purchased 220 tickets thus contributing nearly $2300 (including donations) to support NJRTL with their much needed, ongoing pro-life efforts here in New Jersey. We collected over 100 items for babies during our Baby Blanket Drive in October, thanks to the generosity of our parishioners, who used their time and talent to create lovely items that will show our care for the babies whose mothers have chosen life! If you have made a baby blanket during Respect Life Month (October), please bring it to the church this weekend (Nov. 1-2). We will be in the Church Hall at St. Anthony Church and in Holy Family Hall at Our Lady of Sorrows Church after all Masses. We can't wait to see what you've made!

October is Respect Life Month, and we are asking all parishioners who know how to crochet, knit, quilt, etc. to make a baby blanket during October for the local crisis pregnancy center. Give these mothers the gift of knowing someone cares enough to create a soft, bright, welcoming blanket for their baby. Click here for more information.

History was made recently when Planned Parenthood and other big businesses were banned from receiving federal Medicaid dollars for a period of one year. However, Planned Parenthood sued, and a preliminary court ordered injunction was granted that requires taxpayer funding to continue. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops invites Catholics to pray daily throughout this month to end taxpayer funding of the abortion industry, invoking St. Joseph, Defender of Life.
