The reception of the Holy Eucharist for the first time is always a cherished day in the life of the faithful. Congratulations of our young first communicants who received Our Lord this weekend at the 10:30 am Mass at Saint Anthony Church and the older students at the 5:00 pm Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows Church.
We congratulate the fifty-one boys and girls who will be receiving the Holy Eucharist for the first time this Saturday, May 2. We thank their parents and catechists for preparing them so well for this sacred encounter.
Our First Holy Communicants will be sharing bread with you during the weekend of April 25–26. If you receive bread, please keep them in your prayers, as this is their service project to share with others. Thank you.
As part of their preparation for First Communion our children are reflecting on the important of sharing and generosity as they consider the Gospel event of the boy who offered his two fish and five loaves to Jesus for the feeding of the crowd…a foreshadowing of the Eucharist. Our parish is in great need of Eucharistic Ministers to visit our homebound brothers and sisters, as well as our neighboring nursing homes. The Eucharistic ministry to the homebound and to those in nursing homes is a rewarding ministry. Click here for more information.
If you have not already seen the exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles inspired by the Blessed Carlo Acutis, it can be seen from now until September 20 at St. James Church, Pennington. The display is open from 10 to 7 Monday through Sunday. Spoiler...these miracles are still happening, and you can find out about them, and the scientific investigations of them, in this display!
