A letter was received last week, acknowledging the receipt of $17,000 for the mission of the Filippini Sisters in Ethiopia. The funds were raised through our parish’s Lenten work of charity.

It provides help for marriage problems, difficulties or crises, and couples learn to build communication skills and to increase intimacy. There are so many good books about the lives of holy men and women, about remarkable examples of peace-making, about communities that bring life to the poor and the oppressed, and the spiritual life itself. This summer, try packing a good spiritual book to read on your vacation, or settle on the couch for a few moments a day with a really "good" book!
